GRANITE SETTS

Granite Setts

Porthcothen, near Padstow March 2013

A well used emtrance which lacked character.

Removal of approx 4 tons of shale.

Replacement hardcore (803). which is well compacted using the Whacker plate.Notice the shuttered hole next to Whacker plate. This is to be filled with a strong concrete mix for the “stop’ plate for the bottom of the gate.

Perimeter edging setts are laid on concrete base for strength.

Infill granite setts are 200 x100 mm.

Kiln dried sand is brushed into all gaps in the setts then Wacker plate is passed over them to bond everything together.

New gravel topping to complete the finish.
